What this site collects, and what it does not
This site exists so people can share first-person accounts of workplace discrimination and misconduct. We built it to keep your account out of our hands as much as possible. The sections below describe exactly what happens to your words, your email, and your network address.
Submitting a story is anonymous
You do not create an account. You do not give a name. We do not ask who you are, and the form does not try to find out.
You write your account and submit it. That is the whole requirement.
Submissions leave this site immediately
When you submit, your text is sent in one direction to a private intake managed by the site owner. Nothing about your submission is written to this website. There is no database row, no server log, and no file holding what you wrote.
The intake is a private workspace accessible only to the site team. Your raw submission lives there, not here.
Submissions are screened before publication
No submission appears automatically. Screening checks for signs of spam or targeted influence campaigns before publication.
If your account is published, it appears as an anonymous post on the public site. That published post is stored, because it is now public content. Your original raw submission is not stored on this website.
Email is optional and used for one of two things
You can submit with no email at all. If you choose to give one, it is used only for the reason you picked:
- Legal support. If you check “I need legal support,” we use your email to send a guide on selecting a lawyer.
- Journalist contact. If you opt in to hearing from journalists, we use your email to pass along their interest in speaking with you.
Your email is not stored on this website. It travels with your submission to the private intake and is used only for the purpose you selected.
We do not store your IP address
Your network address is used briefly to keep the site usable. We turn it into a salted hash and use that hash to limit spam and to stop the same reader from upvoting one story twice.
The raw IP address is never stored. The hash is never linked to a story you submit.
Upvotes are anonymous
Marking that “readers recognized this” takes no login and no account. We keep a per-reader hash and a running count, nothing more.
An upvote is not connected to your identity, and it is not connected to any story you may have submitted.
Fonts load from a third party for now
This site currently loads its fonts from Google Fonts, which is a request to a third-party server. We plan to host the fonts ourselves to remove that request.
There are no advertising trackers
We do not run advertising trackers on this site. We do not sell or share visitor data with advertisers.
You keep your rights
You retain all rights to your own words. Sharing your account here does not transfer ownership of what you wrote.
Removing a published story
A published post can be taken down on request. The site owner will add a dedicated request address before public launch.
